Belington Teens Seriously Injured By Negligent Driver

Mr. Colombo recently had the pleasure of representing two high school students from Belington, Barbour County, West Virginia in a very serious car accident. The students, who attended Phillip Barbour High School outside of Philippi, West Virginia. The students were on their way to school when a negligent driver lost control of her car, crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the young students’ car. The negligent driver’s car burst into flames and the students’ car was virtually destroyed. The students along with the negligent driver were all seriously injured. It is a miracle that no one was killed.

The liability insurance carrier for the negligent driver was Erie Insurance Company immediately recognized that their insured was liable for the students’ severe injuries. A lawsuit was filed in Philippi, Barbour County, West Virginia. After a relatively brief period of discovery the case was settled with Erie Insurance as well as the clients’ underinsurance carrier who was State Farm.
