Clarksburg Woman Severely Injured

Mr. Colombo recently resolved a case on behalf of a school teacher from Clarksburg, Harrison County, West Virginia. Mr. Colombo’s client was a long time teacher for the Harrison County Board of Education. In December 2010 this Harrison County School teacher was lawfully stopped at a traffic light on Rt. 50 East and Old Bridgeport Hill Road. Unfortunately, the negligent driver traveling behind her did not notice that traffic had stopped and plowed into the back of the car in which she was a passenger. Mr. Colombo’s client was severely injured and likely will have a permanent disability which will prevent her from returning to work.

The negligent driver was insured by Westfield Insurance Company. Westfield Insurance Company quickly realized that their insured was liable for the Plaintiff’s injuries and immediately offered their insurance policy limits to settle this case. Fortunately, Mr. Colombo’s client had underinsurance coverage through State Auto who also promptly paid their underinsurance limits.
