Pruntytown Clients Struck By Coal Truck

Mr. Colombo and Mr. Copenhaver of the law firm of Colombo & Stuhr recently represented a husband and wife who were seriously injured in Taylor County, just outside Grafton, West Virginia. On December 1, 2009 Mr. Colombo’s clients were traveling on U.S. Rt. 50 about 1 mile north of Pruntytown, Taylor County, West Virginia. In the opposite direction was a coal truck that was traveling at a high rate of speed and was loaded down with gravel. The coal truck lost control, crossed the center line and struck Mr. Colombo’s clients nearly head on.

One of Mr. Colombo’s clients was trapped in the vehicle and the “jaws of life” had to be used to free her. Both clients were seriously injured.

The coal truck company was insured by National Casualty Company in Scottsdale, Arizona. Mr. Colombo and his office diligently worked up the case, established that liability was clear and that the injuries were undisputable. A substantial settlement was obtained on behalf of both of Mr. Colombo’s clients without suit being filed.
